Matt believes strongly that we ought to strive for a Progressive Movement where everyone who wants to do so can find meaningful work that pays well in an environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. And these days, most of his work (including a great deal of volunteer and pro-bono work) is aimed squarely at interventions to move the Progressive Movement in that direction.
Whether it's helping coach someone through salary negotiations, helping someone maintain between boundaries at work or helping organizations run better, more equitable hiring processes, Matt's sweet spot is working with progressive organizations and social change professionals on issues where big emotions and/or fundamental values intersect with decision-making.
He was the campaign manager for a successful local campaign in Oakland and Berkeley against an entrenched incumbent, and then spent eight years as a digital campaigner, including five years as a campaign manager and senior campaigner at CREDO Action where he ran a wide variety of issue advocacy campaigns. Because of this professional background, most of his coaching clients are in the progressive electoral or advocacy space, and most of his recruiting or hiring gigs are for email campaigning, social media or online communications roles.Recent organizational clients have included Demand Progress, ParentsTogether, Bend the Arc and Paid Leave US (PL+US).
